Jhonatan Narváez (UAE Team Emirates – XRG) won the 2nd stage of the Lidl Deutschland Tour. The Ecuadorian prevailed in a three-man sprint against Riley Sheehan (Israel – Premier Tech) and Søren Wærenskjold (Uno-X Mobility). The Norwegian thus returned to the top of the overall standings, now leading the classification by one second over the stage winner.
“It was a crazy finale,” said the 28-year-old Ecuadorian national champion. “But I picked the right moment. Since we don’t have a real sprinter in the team, we tried to make the race hard early on and force a different kind of race. It’s always nice to win,” Narváez added after claiming his fourth victory of the season.
