The Blue Jersey, sponsored by Lidl, is worn every day by the rider who leads the general individual classification. After each stage, race officials calculate who has the fastest time across the entire race and the jersey then goes to the overall leader. The jersey is awarded on the final stage to the overall winner of the Lidl Deutschland Tour: usually a very good allround rider.
The general individual time classification is established by adding together the times recorded for the prologue and each stage, taking bonuses and penalties into consideration. In the event of a tie in the general individual time classification, the exact timing of the prologue will be taken into account to break the tie.
A points classification is established by adding together the points obtained at the finish line of the prologue and each of the 4 stages as well as the intermediate sprints. Points for the2 intermediate sprints on each stage will be awarded as follows: 5 - 3 - 1 point(s) for the first 3 riders.
The following points are awarded for each finish: 15 - 12 - 9 - 7 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 point(s) to the first 10 riders.
