All stage locations confirmed: Stage 3 of the Lidl Deutschland Tour 2026 to start in Herxheim

With Herxheim, the final stage location of the Lidl Deutschland Tour 2026 has now been confirmed. The municipality on the Southern Wine Route will host the start of Stage 3 on Saturday, 22 August 2026, with the stage finishing in Bad Dürkheim. This completes the route plan for the upcoming edition – and puts Herxheim at the heart of German cycling for one day.

Stage start brings cycling up close

The start in Herxheim marks another important milestone for the Lidl Deutschland Tour 2026. Spectators on site will be able to experience the special atmosphere of an international stage race: the arrival of the teams, the professionals’ preparations, the presentation of the peloton and the neutralised start in close proximity to the riders. For the municipality and the entire Southern Wine Route region, the stage start is a special opportunity to present itself to a wide audience.

Herxheim looks forward to a cycling festival on its doorstep

“The Lidl Deutschland Tour has a strong presence in Southern Palatinate this year, and I am delighted that another stage will start in our municipality on 22 August. This is a special honour for Herxheim and a strong signal for the attractiveness of our region. We look forward to experiencing cycling at the highest level right on our doorstep and to welcoming numerous guests. This event brings together movement, enthusiasm and community – values that also define Herxheim,” says Sven Koch, Mayor of Herxheim.

Southern Wine Route presents itself as a host region

“Herxheim, the largest municipality in the Southern Wine Route district, combines the most beautiful aspects of the Palatinate. Located in close proximity to the sea of vineyards as well as to the hiking and mountain-biking paradise of the Palatinate Forest, this large village stands out for its vibrant cultural scene, warm hospitality and, of course, its enthusiasm for sporting events,” says Dietmar Seefeldt, District Administrator of the Southern Wine Route district, promoting the stage location. “It is an honour for us to welcome the Lidl Deutschland Tour. After its premiere in 2024, the Tour will this year even stop at two locations in the Southern Wine Route district: Offenbach an der Queich and Herxheim. We look forward to welcoming the guests!”
