Schwäbisch Hall - Finish 1. Stage and Start 2. Stage

Historic Old Town Charm Attracts Visitors

Schwäbisch Hall is delighted to welcome the international cycling world on August 20 and 21, 2026. The charming town on the River Kocher, with its picturesque historic old town, will be a stage host of the Lidl Deutschland Tour – Germany’s largest multi-stage cycling race.

The heart of the town is the Market Square. It is framed by magnificent Renaissance buildings, the Romanesque-Gothic Church of St. Michael, and the Baroque Town Hall – and it is precisely here that the start of the second stage of the Lidl Deutschland Tour will take place on August 21.

But Schwäbisch Hall is far more than just a venue for sporting highlights. On the steps of St. Michael’s Church, the Open-Air Theatre has been transporting audiences into fascinating theatrical worlds for over 100 years, while the Würth Art Gallery and the Johanniterkirche inspire art lovers with masterpieces from around the globe.

Schwäbisch Hall warmly invites all guests to discover the town. Wander through the lanes of the historic old town, immerse yourself in theatre, art, and exhibitions, and experience how sport, history, and joie de vivre come together in a truly unique way in Schwäbisch Hall.

Experience the Lidl Deutschland Tour 2026 in Schwäbisch Hall – where cycling meets art.

Offenbach an der Queich – finish of stage 2

Welcome to Offenbach an der Queich – a vibrant and tradition-rich municipality in the Südliche Weinstraße district. Cycling enthusiasts and visitors alike will find a historic town center with lovingly restored half-timbered houses and the inviting marketplace in front of the Queichtal Museum.

Offenbach also knows how to celebrate – numerous (wine) festivals, fairs, and markets make the town a lively meeting place all year round. A true highlight is the unique Queich meadows, which were recognized by UNESCO in 2023 as “Traditional Irrigation in Europe” and added to the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This centuries-old irrigation culture still shapes the landscape today.

Nestled in the Südliche Weinstraße holiday region, Offenbach lies in one of Germany’s sunniest culinary landscapes. Expansive vineyards, idyllic villages, and the nearby Palatinate Forest make the region a paradise for both active travelers and leisure seekers. Well-marked trails allow you to explore nature on foot or by bike – complemented by stops at wine taverns, farms, and restaurants where regional cuisine and excellent wines take center stage.

In the Südliche Weinstraße, sociability is simply part of life. Throughout the year, numerous wine festivals, markets, and local celebrations invite you to toast with regional wines, sample local specialties, and enjoy the distinctive Palatinate atmosphere.

Bad Dürkheim – Finish of Stage 3

Bad Dürkheim is located in the Palatinate region and is part of the Bad Dürkheim district. The town is characterized by viticulture, its location on the edge of the Palatinate Forest, and a high quality of life.

Bad Dürkheim is particularly well-known beyond the region for the world’s largest wine barrel and the traditional Wurstmarkt – the largest wine festival in the world and also one of the oldest. The town center offers a variety of gastronomic, cultural, and tourist attractions, serving as a central hub for visitors.

The Bad Dürkheim district complements the town with a diverse cultural landscape, including additional wine towns, natural areas, and recreational opportunities. This creates an attractive living and leisure environment for both residents and guests.

The vineyards and proximity to the Palatinate Forest provide ideal conditions for cycling, hiking, and other outdoor activities. The variety of routes and scenic landscapes make the region especially appealing for sporting events.

With the new Salinarium Bad Dürkheim Thermal Spa, the town also offers a modern facility for relaxation and recovery, strengthening the connection between activity, tourism, and well-being.

Heilbronn - Finish 4. Stage and ADAC Cycling Tour

Heilbronn is a city in transition. With around 130,000 residents, it is located in the north of Baden-Württemberg, directly on the River Neckar. Short distances, urban life and a high quality of life characterize this open-minded, multicultural city where people from more than 140 nations live together.

Heilbronn actively shapes transformation. The city holds the title European Green Capital 2027 because it has convincingly demonstrated its ability to change and is determined to continue on this path. Sustainable mobility, new green urban spaces and a high quality of life are visible expressions of this ambition.

At the same time, Heilbronn is developing into a leading hub for knowledge and innovation. The Heilbronn Education Campus of the Dieter Schwarz Foundation brings together vocational training, academic study, research and lifelong learning in one location. With the IPAI, a Europe-wide significant ecosystem for artificial intelligence is emerging, complemented by Experimenta, Germany’s largest science center.

Despite all this dynamism, Heilbronn remains firmly rooted in its history. Wine and the River Neckar have shaped the city for centuries. In Württemberg’s oldest wine-growing city, vineyards stretch right to the city’s edge, and the riverbanks are places for meeting and relaxation.

Heilbronn is an active city with a strong passion for sport. More than 400 clubs and initiatives shape community life, and around a quarter of the population is involved in sports clubs. National and international competitions are part of everyday city life. A visible highlight of this sporting culture is the final stage of the Lidl Deutschland Tour, held in Heilbronn. At the same time, the Schwarz Group, which includes Lidl, has its headquarters in the region — a connection that makes this high-profile cycling event particularly fitting.
