One day, one place, one cycling festival: Heilbronn serves as both the start and finish of Stage 4

At the 2026 Lidl Deutschland Tour, Heilbronn will not only be the finish line for the final stage but also the starting point. This means that on the final day, the city on the Neckar River will be completely dedicated to cycling. For the first time in the history of the tour, the start and finish of a stage will be in the same location—a concept that promises a particularly intense experience for fans, participants, and the region.

A Full Day Dedicated to Cycling

With the starting gun in the morning and the finish in the afternoon, Heilbronn becomes the center of the Lidl Deutschland Tour cycling festival. On the final stage, the top teams will battle for both the stage victory and the overall classification, while spectators gather along the route and in the finish area. Bringing all the highlights together in one place creates maximum proximity to the race action.

“I am very pleased that on August 23 the Lidl Deutschland Tour will not only finish in Heilbronn, but also start here. This means the entire day will revolve around cycling and offers another chance to experience the professional riders up close. A unique program is guaranteed for all sports fans in the region,” says Harry Mergel, Mayor of the City of Heilbronn.

Focus on the ADAC Cycling Tour

At the same time as the professional race, the ADAC Cycling Tour takes center stage. This amateur sporting event gives recreational cyclists the opportunity to experience the course themselves on closed roads. The combination of riding their own race and being in immediate proximity to the elite riders makes Sunday a very special experience.

“A stage day with both the start and finish in the same city creates an extraordinary atmosphere. Heilbronn will become the stage for the final day — from the first kilometer to the decision for the Blue Jersey. At the same time, participants in the ADAC Cycling Tour will have the opportunity to be part of this magnificent finale,” says Maren Hopf, Head of the Lidl Deutschland Tour at A.S.O. Germany.

Two route formats offer suitable distances for both ambitious riders and beginners alike. The finish in the professionals’ official finish zone creates an emotional highlight and brings grassroots and elite sport together.

With the combined start and finish of Stage 4, Heilbronn will become a cycling festival in a single location, for professionals and amateur athletes alike.
